- Summit County
- A little over an hour west of Denver, the towns of Summit County have plenty to offer visitors year-round.
- In the old gold-mining town of Breckenridge, not only will you enjoy great skiing, but you will also find great shopping and eats. In late January, the town hosts the not-to-be-missed International Snow Sculpture Fesitval.
- Keystone, a more modern, upscale resort town, also has great restaurants and great skiing, and boasts a gondola that runs even in the warmer months, offering breathtaking views of the mountains.
- Other Summit County towns that you may want to kick around around are Frisco and Copper Mountain. Visit www.allsummitcounty.com for more ideas.
- Local Food
- “Rocky Mountain Oysters” contain no oysters. Let's get that right out in the open. But if bull testicles sound good to you, you will find no shortage of places that serve 'em up, as well as other Wild West treats like rattlesnake and buffalo. You may be in more of a mood to sample these dishes after a couple beers from one of the many microbreweries in town.
