- Savannah & Peach Blossom Trail
- You'll have to get up early in the morning to take a day trip to Savannah (about 200 miles southeast of Atlanta), but your troubles will be well rewarded. Perhaps made most famous by the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Savannah was the state's first settlement, and is now a wonderful example of historic preservation. Check with Savannah Walks, Inc at 912/238-9255 (www.savannahwalks.com) to arrange a walking tour; don't miss the the park-like squares that make up the historic downtown area. Explore the funky shops and eateries on Broughton Street, and visit the childhood home of one of the US's greatest writers, Flannery O'Connor.
- Georgia's peach trees blossom in March, so take the Peach Blossom Trail along Hwys 41 and 341 to enjoy these lovely pink-and-white flowers. Visit www.peachblossomtrail.com for more information.
- Local Food
- Georgia is just peachy during the summer; this is when peaches are picked around the state. Check locally for an orchard where you can pick your own!

- Where The Girls Are
- Many lesbians live in DeKalb county, in the northeast part of the city of Decatur. For fun, women head for Midtown or Buckhead if they're professionals, Virginia-Highlands if they're funky or 30ish, Little Five Points if they're young and wild, and Castleberry Hill if they're artistic.
